2016
My first Missions Trip to the Philippines in 2016. I remember my ankles got so swollen there, the Doctors thought I had gout, but I came back and got tests done and found out I had Lupus, SLE.
2017
My second missions trip, Scottie's first. This was hands down one of the best experiences of my life. One day I would love to bring my boys so they can meet these kids. They all stole my heart.
I filmed, directed and edited this testimony. I bought a drone just to get some shots but was so scared to fly that sucker cuz it was expensive and didn't want to lose it or break it.
2018
Day one: Took a tour bus around the city in the morning and ate a yummy bagel. Then took a Lyft to Brooklyn to meet up with @yassinator for a nice tour of Daddy Amazon’s studios and got some inspiration. After, I did a little touristy action in the city again and ate pizza. Finally, I wrapped up NY with a train ride to Connecticut. Now hanging out with my brothers and their families. I miss my boys but I know they are having fun with Scottie and their cousin, Akira. #yoloforthesoulo
Day two: Today was amazing! We drove two hours to Boston in a 15 passenger van. Booked a guided bus tour around the city. Hopped off at the Cheers Bar, had a beer and then hopped back on the bus to tour more of the city. We got off at Fenway Park and got hooked up with a free spontaneous VIP tour. My sister in laws nieces friends sister interns there. Lol! We were able to chill on the Green Monster, which was an amazing experience! After, we went to Quincy Market to eat clam chowder and a lobster roll. We also ate some Boston Cream Pie. Nom nom nom... Boston stole my heart with their rich history. #boston #yoloforthesoulo
Day three: Did an amazing tour of ESPN in Bristol, CT. Went on the set of Sports Center and NFL Live. My sissy in law does ESPN’s graphics, so we were able to get a behind the scenes tour. After I took a much needed nap then headed to my oldest nephew, Dayton Ryder’s high school graduation. Now we’re making s’mores and making memories. I miss my babies but I’m thankful I’m able to spend time with my Ohana. #espn #ohana #connecticut #yoloforthesoulo
Day four: I’m really missing my boys but today was super cute. We hung out in Mystic, CT. We ate pizza where they filmed the movie Mystic Pizza, which was Julia Roberts first acting gig. The veggie pizza was super good and the fried artichokes were on point. After, we walked around Mystic Seaport where we saw some cute houses. Then we drove to Wilcox Park in Westerly, Rhode Island and walked around for a bit. After we went to Misquamicut Beach that is adorable but the water was hella cold. We decided to go back home (to my brothers house) to bbq and I was able to chop wood for the first time, which is not easy at all. Day five: Last day with the Ohana. We drove 3.5 hours to Philly. We stopped in Jersey to check out the Jets and Giants stadium then we ate at White Castle since some of the fam never tried it and I had a veggie slider. I got to drive on the Jersey Turnpike and fist pump, lol.
Once we got to Philly we stopped at Liberty Bell and took some photos. We were all craving a Philly Cheese Steak so we decided to go to Jim’s. I would give that place a 7/10. They put the cheese first on the bread which to me would have been better if they melted the cheese on top. We also saw Landry Shamet and I took a selfie in front of him, haha!
After we walked to the Art Museum which was over 2 miles away and on the way we walked through China Town and went to the LOVE sign. Of course I had to reenact the Rocky run, lol. After we visited the steps we ate at Tony Luke’s and their Philly Cheese Steak was on point. I’d give this place a 10/10. They also put the cheese on the bottom, it must be a Philly thing? I also tried their cheese curds and salt & vinegar fries which was hella good. I’m usually 90% vegan and 10% I save my appetite for moments like these.
On our way home we stopped by the Eagles stadium to check it out. P.S. I miss the boys and the hubby so much. Can’t wait to see them tomorrow!
