It’s Wednesday Feb. 17 at 7 a.m. in the morning and I am on Clubhouse, why? I never go on in the morning but I felt tugged to go on since I woke up early and wanted to start my day out with some learning. Clubhouse is a live audio social media platform that I am addicted to. Lately, God has been downloading into me to move forward with writing a children’s book on finances. So this past week I went into a bunch of audio rooms on Clubhouse on how to publish a book. It’s mainly people who want to sell and promote their how to publish a book course. I went to three different ones. Within two days! It's crazy because I never see rooms about how to self publish a book but how did I just all of a sudden start seeing them these past few days? How I found them on Clubhouse was all luck and Gods timing. I feel this was a push to finally move forward. I gravitated towards Dr. Fred Jones course because he was a lawyer and he’s a man of God.
As you know our family motto is Dream Big. So I always have that posted everywhere in my socials. Especially in Clubhouse. So I joined the room with Dr. Jones and he was talking about self publishing a best seller on Amazon. He started to say it helps with selling your course. In my head I was like, I don’t have a course. So I wanted to ask a question but I always get shy.
Also, on Clubhouse, I intentionally added a pic with our Dream Big neon sign in the background, with of course our puppy Dream. Ha-ha! While in the audio room with Dr. Jones, he see’s my profile pic and pulls me on stage to see how he can help me. He said, “I love the motto Dream Big.” In my head I am thinking, I necessarily don’t want to start a course so I asked him, “My goal is to write a children’s book series on finances. Do I need to create a course in order to write a book? Do they go hand in hand?” He said why don’t you make it a Children’s Book Course Series? OMG!!! Pew Pew Pew!!! Fireworks!!! AHA moment lit off! LOL!
He then invited me to his masterclass on Thursday Feb. 18. I go to bed Wednesday night editing my outline to be prepared to start writing with the boys and Scottie. Thursday night comes around and time for the masterclass. It was an hour long and one of the first thing he says is… “Dream Big! Do you know what BIG means? Built In GOD!” OMG! More fireworks go off because if our motto is Dream Big and he starts off with a slide that says Dream Big and he is a man of faith? What is there to lose? I just felt tugged to go by faith and buy his course.
As much as I am against buying courses, I feel in order for me to fulfill my Dreams I need to INVEST in someone who I feel connected to and felt led to help me grow into this space. This has been a HUGE dream of mine to write a children’s book. Over the years my idea of the topics would always change. But the past few years I have been getting nuggets from God to write a children’s book series on finances and Dr. Jones said to marry that with a course. WOW! It’s like an AHA moment that God really places these opportunities for you to seize. So here we go ya’ll! Our little family will be writing a Children’s Finance Book Course Series! Ahhh so excited that one of my Dreams is finally coming to fruition.
Yes, all the doubts rush in. How long will it take me? What if I fail? What if I don't follow through? Will I ever get this children's book course series off the ground? What if no one buys it? What if? What if? What if? This quote on Dr. Jones very first slide reassured me...
GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO DREAM BIG!
I was nervous to write about this because I hardly follow through with my goals but I want to write about it to keep me accountable. Plus, I am extremely transparent and love to share what our little family is up to. Now the numbers: Dr. Jones course is $997 for elite. I’m boujee so I needed to get the creme de la creme of the courses, lol! Let’s see how God works with us during this season as we start this new chapter of writing a children’s book series. I will be blogging about our journey. Also, I started the first book with my boys. They chose the characters which will be based on our family and the theme. :)
